HVTV2.5 Clapham North Tunnels Part 2

> March 11th, 2007 ---

This video was meant to be a part of HVTV2 but due to some complications we had to leave it out. But now it is available exclusively through our YouTube channel.

HVTV2 Goes on YouTube (finally)

> January 22nd, 2007 ---

Hokay, Internet User. It seems that a lot of people can’t be bothered to download the full length video of HVTV2. This seems very logical to me, especially if you don’t know if it’s any good or not.

So I have come up with the idea (yeah, it was all me…. *looks around*) of putting segments on YouTube in order for people to watch it in little chunks. I’ll be releasing segments over the next few days, so subscribe yourself to my channel for new videos! Go get em over at

HVTV YouTube Channel

Right now, we’ve got Phone Jamming, and LED Throwies. I’m uploading another segment as I type.

Stay tuned for more stuff! I might even include some bits we didn’t release with HVTV2 the first time around … oooh added content!

HVTV3 - Join in!

> September 28th, 2006 ---

Hello World!

With the success of HVTV2 and an urge to do more, we are going to soon be starting production on HVTV3. There are a few differences.

Although we can’t give too much away at this present time, we can tease you slightly. This new production is going to be completely different to anything we’ve done before. In fact, it’s going to be different to pretty much any hacker media that’s currently out there. It’s not simply going to be us lot showing you a bunch of hacks - that can be had pretty much anywhere. We are going to show off technology, hacks and the hacker spirit in a new way not yet seen by the community.

It’s going to be a lot bigger than ep 2. By that I mean a LOT bigger. We’re going to need a crew. I can’t possibly do all this myself (like the previous episodes). Some skills that we’re going to need:

  • Storyboard and charachter profile artists
  • Acting
  • Camera and sound crew
  • Radio communications expertise
  • Video and networking technical skills
  • Sound editing
  • Research
  • Script editing
  • Project Management
  • Video editing
  • Compositing
  • 2D and 3D animation

And that’s just for starters!

If you think that you could provide us with any of these skills, get in touch! Comment here or send me an email directly at naxxtor {at} hackervoice /dot/ co [dot] uk

Premiere Party Aftermath

> August 5th, 2006 ---

Last night’s party rocked. We had a brilliant turnout, an excellent audience I must say! Even the normals that were hanging around seemed to enjoy the show. We played the film 3 or 4 times over the night, and drank much alcofrolic beverages. I did a bit of VJing and got my laptop 0wned (thanks kitty…). People got a bit confused about the joystick I was using - but it’s so I can fade between different video sources (which included Shaun of the Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Patrolling with Sean Kennedy, and the broken (for laughs), and of course bits of HVTV2.

After the pub belial, DarkNature, Enyo, ade and I went for a nice walk around looking for tunnels. That was fun, also.

Thanks to everyone who came, you were a great audience, and you just wait for Episode 3!
Oh, and I formatted my laptop, ade, so you won’t have to confiscate my sticker :p

Premiere Party arrangements

> August 2nd, 2006 ---

For those of you travelling to London for the Release Party who want to stay for the weekend or at least the night, then I found this website: Londontoolkit.com . Since we don’t know exactly how many people are going to do this we didn’t really bother booking or arranging anything with any local hotels, so you’re on your own with that one.

For the party we have secured a projector from Crypt and a sound system from Naxxtor, which we will be using to show the 40 minute video we’ve all been waiting for, but aftwards (assuming you’ve not all left in disgust and/or boredom) we may as well use it for other stuff. I thought of doing a bit of VJing later into the night, possibly with a live hacker voice radio remix or two, just for larfes.

If anyone wants to show some stuff off on the projector you’re more than welcome to bring a laptop with a VGA port, or a DVD which we can play (as long as it’s not really long I don’t see it being a problem).

If you wish to attened come to the London; Bottom of escalators inside the central core of the Trocadero shopping centre Google Maps Link at 6:30pm onwards to 7:30 where we will be making our way to the Pub.The party will start at about 7:30 - 8PM, the premier will be at some point after that.

Episode 2 - Music and Structure

> July 15th, 2006 ---

A tough part of producing (and directing for that matter) is choosing music. For this release I want to use as much Creative Commons licenced music as I can, because I think it’s such a good idea and it really supports the artists. Since there is so much of the stuff out there and the quality is somewhat variable, I’ve had to go through a lot of different tracks to find what I’m looking for. ccMixter is an excelent resource, but it’s quite tricky finding really outstanding music.

One artist that managed to hit me in between the eyes was _ghost. This person is prolific to say the least, and has a lot of really high quality tracks up for download. One that I suggest you listen to is Lullaby. Brilliant little track. Oh, and Set music to the Moon is pretty cool too.

Theivery Corporation have released a Creative Commons track, DC 3000. It’s quite chilled and ambient with a hint of dub (as per usual). I’m no music critic (can you tell?).

There seems to be about 50 million remixes of a rap tune by Fort Minor, “Remember the Name“. One that I noticed was this tune: Folk Minor Remember the Name , just because it was a bit different.

I don’t think any other above will be in the release, but you never know.
Today I’ve been putting together the structure, and the order of things. the “talent” (as you would normally call them, not sure that applies in this case though heh heh) have kinda locked me into a few things, in that they say “Welcome to Hacker Voice TV Episode 2″ apparently at the beginning of every signle segment intro. I don’t know how many beginnings they were expecting but I can only provide them with one!

Belial is more used to being behind a microphone than in front of a camera. So he’s not terribly concious of what he’s doing while he’s speaking. For whatever reason he felt that the split second before he started doing the intro to one of the main segments of the show was the perfect time to pick a piece of fluff off his laptop. Here he is in the act:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

There are plenty more of these silly little things that I’ve got in the raw footage which will come out gradually after the release, so check back often.

Episode 2 - Last Day of Filming

> July 10th, 2006 ---

So, filming has pretty much finished for Episode 2 - with the excepeption for any videos which our viewers would like to submit to us for inclusion! We are now in for the long haul for preparing, editing and releasing this Episode. And what en Episode it will be!

For a light starter we’ve got some LED Throwie action, lighting up ferrous objects in green for aesthetic effect. Thanks to G.R.L for the open source technology that we can all share!

The Fish dish, if you will, will be what we like to call cellphone-jamming. We provide some footage of our personally created “security bubble” - and it’s effects.
If you’ve been following Hacker Voice Radio, you’ll know that belial and hyper have been doing a bit of Urban Exploration, taking to the tunnels underneath London. We’ve got a big chunk of underground goodness for the main course.
The desert will be meringue surprise ;)

If you have a video which you would like us to show in this or future episodes, please send it (or a link) to me at naxxSPAMtor [at] hackervoice [dot] co [dot] uk (remove the SPAM)
